MediaLaws is pleased to share the Call for Papers for the Third EULEN Conference, titled “Enforcing the Rules of the Game: Competition, Regulation, and the Evolving Architecture of EU Law Enforcement”, which will take place on 10–11 May 2027 at the University of Warsaw.

The conference will explore the evolving architecture of EU law enforcement, with particular attention to the growing interaction between competition law and horizontal and sectoral regulation. Against the backdrop of an increasingly complex regulatory landscape, the conference will examine how different enforcement regimes converge, overlap or conflict, and whether existing institutional structures and enforcement mechanisms remain adequate.

Contributions are invited on a broad range of topics, including the interaction between the Digital Markets Act and EU competition law, institutional design and cooperation between national and EU authorities, judicial review and multi-level enforcement, as well as enforcement in the digital and AI era. The call also welcomes contributions on digital sovereignty, hyperscaler dependency, platform power, the Digital Omnibus, enforcement of the DMA, DSA, EMFA, AI Act and Data Act, regulatory sandboxes, and the role of non-economic interests in competition and digital regulation. Interdisciplinary, empirical and comparative approaches are particularly encouraged.

The call is open to academics, including PhD researchers, policymakers, practitioners and interdisciplinary teams working on EU law enforcement. Interested participants are invited to submit an abstract of up to 500 words, including the proposed paper title, research question(s), main argument, methodology, and author and affiliation details.

Deadline for abstract submissions: 15 October 2026. Selected participants will be notified by 5 November 2026. Accepted authors will subsequently submit a working paper by 1 March 2027, with selected papers considered for publication in a special issue of the Yearbook of Antitrust and Regulatory Studies (YARS®).

For further information and submission details, please consult the full Call for Papers or contact the organisers at cars@uw.edu.pl.
