A few days before the end of the transitional period provided for in the Brexit agreement, the European Commission has adopted the Adequacy Decision concerning the United Kingdom. As a result, it will not be necessary to rely on, for example, SCCs for personal data transfers to the UK. However, the decision is valid for a period of 4 years and expressly states that UK will take steps during this period that will move the local privacy regime away from the GDPR, which could lead to the decision being revoked.

The whole text of the decision is available at the following link.
