The Programme in Comparative Media Law and Policy (PCMLP) at the University of Oxford, seeks to appoint a Research Officer to develop and coordinate PCMLP’s media law research projects, particularly in China.

PCMLP is looking for a highly-motivated individual, interested in researching media in a transnational context. The appointment provides substantial scope for academic judgment, creativity and independence.

The successful candidate should have a doctorate in law or a relevant social science subject such as political science, anthropology, development studies, international relations, sociology, etc. While desirable, specific experience with media law is not required, nor is experience of working in China.

This post is wholly funded by external research grants and is a two-year, fixed-term position, with a possibility of renewal, to start as soon as possible. Further details, including details of the application procedure, are available at http://pcmlp.socleg.ox.ac.uk/news/2011/job-vacancy-post-doctoral-research-officer .

Applications must be received by 13 June 2011.
